Hello!

First let me say thank you for visiting our website.  My name is Laura, however I am called Nona by my grandsons.  Hence, the name of our business Nona's Niche.

A little about myself, I come from a long line of military.  My grandfather was a US Marine, my grandmother was in the US Navy.  My father retired at 22 years in the Navy, my mother was in the Navy reserves, my sister was in the Navy, my oldest son was in the US Army, my husband was in the Army and then me, I retired after 21 years in the Navy as an Air Traffic Controller.  After retiring from the Navy, I continued in the profession of Air Traffic Control until present day.  Can you tell I love the job?  I am wife to a wonderful husband, mother of two successful sons and grandmother of two handsome grandsons. 

I love creating handmade treasures for people who are looking for something special.  I have always treasured any gift that was handmade and I got my love for making treasures from my mother and she got it from her grandmother.  I am the oldest of three girls and we have the creating bug.  We have our different specialties; however, we share the love of quilting.  

The gratification I get giving a special person a 'handmade hug' that can provide years of comfort is one I will never get tired of.  I carry over that feeling by providing longarm services for others.  It gives me the opportunity to add a small bit of personality to my customers’ quilts that accent the beautiful works my clients create.  It is always an honor to put the finishing touches on your quilts.
