Heart for Dad

This is a very personal heart wrenching quilt that I just recently finished. It is a memory quilt for my Dad using some of my late step-mothers clothes. She, Judy, passed away just a few short months ago. And like most couples that have been married for a long time, the surviving spouse searches for ways to continue on in life. I pray this quilt will give my Dad a little something special to hold on too.

The quilt measures 60" x 72". The center panel is a 36" x 36" Kona white piece of fabric with various size hearts cut from remnants of clothing and appliqué to form a focal heart.

The quilt design is Signed, Sealed, Delivered, designed by Patricia E. Ritter and Jessica Schick. It is stitched out using Glide 40wt. cool grey 3.

The back was constructed with some remaining 6" blocks of clothing and grey flannel.

I love adding scripture to my quilts. This one I pray gives my Dad some comfort along with wrapping himself up in the quilt when he particularly needs a memory hug from his wife.
